The social dilemma (masks off)

Documentary explaining the effect of the modern web services on our way of life.

If you see the movie .. you will know that there is no way out of it ..

Webservices is great help in almost everything .. It helped to advance good and bad . From medicine to terrorism .. From education and knowledge to stupidity and religion. 

We passed the age of agriculture , industry and that of electronic devices .. 

Now we are at the digital age .. (AGE OF INFORMATION).

Not everybody agree that all the changes from an age to another are for the better .. Agriculture caused imperialisms and serious infection diseases .
Industry caused pollution and Hiroshima ..
Electronic devices (TV , Radio) cause society isolations.. etc.. 

Yet nobody was able to stop any of them .. there was no way back from any of those changes.

The digital age is causing new problems and making small problems bigger ..  well .. it is what it is.

Let's admit that there is no way back.. 

Google is not going away .. Facebook , twitter, amazon .. same.. 

There are algorithms following you in your cell phone.. others recording your web searches and behavior. giving the data to other algorithms to compare you to others and put you in categories of personalities similar to you. 

From certain count of your (in private) web interactions and messaging activities, algorithms will know more about you than your life partner does.. 

A machine knows where you go .. a machine knows what you want .. a machine knows what person you are.
A machine know what you did and ashamed of to say openly ..
A machine knows your strength and weaknesses, more than your partner (you can lie and say "but" to gullible person .. not to a machine) .. 

It gets worse even more ..
A machine is able to know how (and what) you think, thus : such a machine can also influence your thoughts .. at least can expose who you really are. not what you pretend to be.
Machine can know (as a result overtake) your personality....... masks off... 

Let that sink in .....................

But how can a machine KNOW ?? can it ? Think of Alan Turing.. 

You might have thought that you were free, and now you are not .. think again.. were you free earlier?
All were more free when they didn't have houses and lived in caves .. but houses remained
All were more free when they didn't have rulers and societies.. but governments remained
All were more free when there were no street signs and highways .. but cars remained
All were more free when there were .... what else ...  you name it .... 

Progress or regress .? both ?? . up to you to decide.... there is no way back

And if you want to live in the 21 century then live with it ..

The Ant on stage.. what is it all about ??

Do ants think ? can they ? maybe not .. can they feel ?? hunger, danger, importance.. well.. maybe.. 

Here is a setting..
Theater stage is built for a big play , can be Shakespeare, Lohengrin or Broadway ..
Stairs , doors , tables .. etc
Many participated in building it, carpenters , designers etc.. many others are acting .. singing .. playing music .. sound effects .. lights effects ..

Now.... To he point : Here is an imaginary ant...........
It can think (or does it ?) and , somehow, managed to be and survive on that stage for its whole lifetime.. (The average lifespan of an ant is 45 days.) during the play season.. 

Audience .. many of them attend the play .. it was great .. the initial deal was to play for 2 years.. they extended it to 6 years.. 

The Ant thinks: All this people are here for me .. including stage builders, actors, musicians etc .. It is all about me... 

Well ... Its life ended after 45 days.. the show went on .. as if nothing happened. 

We certainly all agree that the ant should know better (or think better) .... 

but .. is that really Sarcasm!!! .. 
Isn't that what human is all about ? 

In the past , before knowledge, during the "infancy" of our kind, human tend to feel it is all about him/her.. food , water ,caves, legs (to run away from predators). eyes .. etc .... 

Genetically speaking .. evolution made those feelings into the genetic code .. we call it survival .. survival is the manifestation of (IT IS ALL ABOUT ME) .. 

If you were told that you need operation to remove your appendix you might not sleep the night. following news is different , News about  Tsunami in Indonesia  killed 300 thousand people is just a piece of information you hear while having snack and drink.

We are -genetically- creatures of (it is all about me). We all FEEL it deep down .. but is it justified to behave accordingly ?? 

everything finishes when we die (if you don't agree .. name your religion. stop reading. thanks). 

Take the universe as our stage (if that's too hard .. reduce it to earth only .. it is good enough)

A human (non-existent for millions of years) is born one day .. lives for some time .. and back to non-existent for the rest of time. 

It happens on a planet that was, is, and always will be, full of similar creatures .. 
in a solar system million times bigger than the planet
in a galaxy that has billion of solar systems
in a universe that has billions of galaxies .. 

depressing .. ? nevertheless .. it is what it is.. and that's it. our importance is less of that of the ant.

True that death is end of life.. not end of memories for very few ..
we can still think of few people, who did something we remember, read about , see , hear and feel .. 

But people (like I) belong to the vast majority, with no particular skills .. no achievements .etc .. we will end up in unnamed tomb somewhere on earth.
BTW: Outstanding people will get "better" tombs... that's about it .. 

Do we really want to spend our survival time THINKING: it is all about me .. !!!!

The universe is not created by a god, who had any of us in mind, while creating it......
UFOs are not there to kidnap and experiment on us. they are NOT THERE at all. .....

Thinking that somebody is unusually powerful, has super power and can influence anybody else by any metaphysical mean..... then logically, he/she should choose to influence a president, a powerful person or somebody of importance, or manipulate the stock market to make himself rich etc.. got the point???? 
Leaving all of that,  and practicing his power on  me (mr. or ms nobody) , can only mean : either he/she is an idiot....or I am..

(nobodies) Feelings, thoughts (if any) leading to actions (or no action) , will make differences to people around them and they should be careful if they care (or can care) .. that's about it .. there are 7-8 billion others who don't give a damn.

The ignorant Ant did nothing at all ..and didn't know any better .. 

We did nothing of importance .. Shouldn't we at least try to know a bit better?? 

Modern life and the ( special ) religion

The special religion is in short : Naturalism. 
It is a religion like any other .. it has leaders (profits) and followers (believers) ..
Some are moderate accepting middle ground between modern life and nature love..
Some are extremists .. They claim that modern life is false life and they are out of it..
They are all brothers and sisters in natures love.
They meditate together, sing and dance together , demonstrate together against "the others" who destroy nature. They feel guilty of having participated earlier in modern life (generally with limited success  if any) and need to repent. 

Religions accuse others of having false believes .. 
In our case it goes mostly against the modern (unnatural) noisy lifestyle :
Too much pollution, too much plastic, too much chemical substances (medications, vaccines). too much pushing , education is all about careers and money..
Modern life is against Nature .. it is all about economy, it is materialistic , shallow with no place for spirituals. life without spirituality is a life of hypocrite .. 

We should all live for nature to flourish and enjoy it as much and as long as we can.. seems reasonable.

It is a fact that people withdraw from Modern life and go live somewhere quite and isolated more or less .. to a village that is at least half an hour drive from the nearest city .. 

Every religion follower thinks that religions (of others) are full of bullshit and double standards .. and HIS/HER religion is the real and perfect one .. 

Every religion follower count himself/herself as one of responsible people to protect and publicize his/her religion ideas against other religions , other religions are for sure inferior to his and full of contradictions. 

Well ..... let's see .. 

Here is a clip of few hours in a day of nature lover. 

Stands up in the morning .. 

1. Bathroom .. shower, brushing teeth using warm tab water and toothpaste. 
2. Kitchen .. Heat water on electrical boiler or gas stove to make coffee or tea or a any other hot drink.
Open the fridge to pick up some milk, cheese , bread .. orange juice for breakfast.
3. Drive to a super market .. pick up some food.. some wine ..maybe sponges and liquid soap .. 
4. Mountain .. Little walk  .... maybe a bike ride.
5. Living room ... Read news online .. or listen to music.
Check messages from friends who might be late for the afternoon meditation. or evening fireplace meeting with wine and cheese and talking about modernity as enemies of nature.

Is any of this activities possible in a (not modern) world. ?
Even the wood of fireplace was cut out of their beloved nature with modern machinery and delivered by truck.

Can you figure who is the hypocrite .. ??

It is a fact : human being one of nature products .. We are all sons of nature as naturalists like to say.. so how come they are behaving as if they were its parents ?? 

Isn't that a religion ? if not .. let me know the difference... 

Covid-19 : wanna be responsible ?

Should we wait for whatever knowledge comes next regarding Covid. should we follow the rules or go against them ?

What do we feel about being obliged to ware a mask and follow sets of rules that we don't feel are right. 

Many claims that those rules are doing nothing .. and Covid will do whatever it does regardless of masks or social distancing etc... 

So life must go on, the same way it was before we knew about Covid. Enough is enough.. The rules are idiotic. 

We had masks for long time and nothing changed.. let's try otherwise .. Demonstrations and discussions are all over the place .. We aren't feeling good about the new rules.. We'd rather get infected and recover or die than spend the rest of our lives in fear. let's build immunity against Covid as soon as possible. 
We don't want to wait for vaccine .. or worse : we don't want to be vaccinated. 

Wars kill people .. cars kill people .. We don't have options against wars and cars .. why should we have them against pandemic. 

Feelings are very justified .. aren't they ? 

Now let's think .. Thinking is not feeling .. it is about knowing .. what you know can change your feelings.. it will get your feelings adjusted to "better" feelings.

For the last few months . numbers are stable.. we have an average of 250.000 new people infected, and 5000 dead every day. 

2% of the number of infected die.. a bit shy of 1 million as of today.

Among any 1000 people on earth there are only 3-4 people infected as of today. is that much?
Among any 7000 people only 1 died...... still not much. isn't it ? 

Assuming that we are down with masks and other rules and willing to build immune system for earth.

Assuming that people voted (by the above feelings) to let all rules down. 

What do we get .. 

7 Billion infected .. the majority will recover and only 2% will die. it will take few month then earth will recover from corona forever.. nice .. isn't it ? life will be back to business as usual.

Think of numbers .. how many people are in this 2%.. 140 Million death in 6 months.

Arguably the second world war of 7 years killed 80 Million (3% of the world population at the time) .. 
A decision made by hundreds of leaders and action of millions of soldiers who followed orders caused 80 Million lives during 7 years.. more or less.

Think of yourself .. that complex system of Biology. All the importance that you give to your own person. ... you life .. emotions. ideas .. feelings ..  and all other psychological topics. children, family. pizza and beer, vacation and holidays. nature and love.....  that much goes away when you die.... 

Multiply all that by 140.000.000, Easy ..right ??  all of that goes in 6 months.

And let me know if you want to be responsible (or just be a part) about taking ANY decision regarding the new rules. 

How about going to super market with a mask and wait for a vaccine .. Isn't that an easier decision.. ??  

It is easy to demonstrate and ask rulers to take decisions the way you want them.. After that it is all THEIR responsibilities, it is THEIR decision .. you just had the wrong opinion and feelings .. THEY are wrong and responsible for much more..

Do we have the right to criticize Science .. ? What is science? 

It sure isn't about making atomic bomb, guns and chemical weapon and fake news.
It is true that they couldn't be made without science.. but is science , or are scientists to carry any responsibilities when it comes to "bad" inventions?

The answer is NO .. Science is a process to discover truth. Not what to do with it (that's invention).

We All use "good" inventions , They are  results of scientific discoveries .. not only Airplanes , High-raises and internet, but also food and clean water, antibiotics and shampoo.. 

Guns are made to kill .. but killing itself existed before guns were invented, strong were always killing weak..
Guns only made it possible for the weak (but smart) to kill the strong (but dumb). it made people equally (strong).

Science is not about why things happen.. it is about HOW ..

WHY can't we fly is not a question .. HOW birds fly is one,  and science was out there to answer it, the answer made us fly.

Stay in your narrow life circle.. continue criticizing and complaining about science and scientist all you want, accusing them of arrogance and selfishness. Ignoring their necessity even their existence. 
Don't stop there , put some time and efforts , talk to all friends around you (as well as those on the other side of the world  using mobile phone, email etc.) ask them to join you and continue complaining that science doesn't know everything (as if you do)...

But then ,
.....maybe once  awhile....,
.....maybe only for few seconds....., 
Remember that science and scientists always were, and will always be, there for you,  spending time and efforts to provide their brain work for your comfort and easier , more enjoyable life. 

Now...  ask the question: who is the arrogant pathetic, selfish immoral bitch?? 

PS: True that science doesn't know everything .. scientists are the first to admit it.. otherwise there will be no need for science..

(quarantine) Can a black mamba know the differences ??

To state the obvious :
How different 2 black mambas can be ? can you tell ? 
Maybe an expert can say something about the differences .. but he will tell : black mambas are black mambas.. There is no intelligent and stupid .. there is no lair and honest .. no idiot and smart black mamba. if there is then the differences make no (or very little) difference in mamba's community.
Can a black mamba know the differences between 2 black mambas? well.. it is not of our business.

Humans .. however are different.. they have ideas ..
We can be different from each other as much as a black mamba is different from a bear.

the scale of difference is not black and white .. it is a wide gray area. the borders are  made by us individually using our imaginations of morals , values , right and wrong.

But almost everybody agrees that lying is immoral bad thing. still everybody does it.

Let's examine this claim .. it is a big one .. and see how accurate are we.. !!!

The following 2 approaches are very common and very different: 
1. I'll do everything -no matter what- to be nice and polite .. 
2. I'll do everything to get what I want , when I wanted and how I wanted..... no matter what.

Number 2 seems immoral and has no issues with lying obviously.. but isn't that true for Number 1  as well.. Is there a way to be 100% nice without lying ? 

On the other hand .. prove to somebody , that what he / she is saying is wrong or simply a lie, (That's not critic. it is truth) .. and almost nobody will consider your honesty as moral. no matter how nice your words are. 

We have imagination and language .. that's the main reason.

Language allows us to talk and think about what we imagine is out there, not only about what IS out there. It allows us to be master liars. 

Imagine something and talk about it to a kid .. using its imagination to make it believe that it is true.  Not only about Santa and God.. but about talking lambs and angry trees .. They are all lies .. at best idiotic.. and for sure immoral .. 

So ...  you lie , and you know that (unless you are a total idiot) .. people like to be lied at when it suits them . they know you are lying (unless they are total idiots).. life goes on.. 

It doesn't matter what you know or how many languages you can speak .. what matters is that you say in any of them. that's if you decide to have friends rather than be honest.

The truth is ONE. everybody must agree on it (gravity, evolution , Energy, Water , Everest, antibiotics, organ transplant , vegan , ..etc ..)  they are there .. everywhere .. only then we can have much less differences, and more important, we will be mostly right.

Alternative realities are endless, thus the differences among us humans are much bigger than the similarities. realities that are NOT REAL make most if not all the REAL differences. 

No tow people (or group of people at best) agree exactly on the same Gods, Nations, After life, existence of super power ruling the world or influencing people by Telepathy.. 

A black mamba cannot know the differences. It will bite all ..
